Well they wanted me to make a change to the cover to an image of a child holding one of their signs. To make it work we had to lay it out landscape, of which they will be displayed.
So getting ready for her next talk, Holly had me test all of her markers to see if they still work. Out of two huge boxes of markers I found that five that were bad. I also broke up all of her labels into chunks of two for her future talks.
So we are getting ready to work on a mural in the West Indy neighborhood. This project will be in partner ship with KIB. I was recently tasked with just making a general mockup to show what the idea for the mural is.
This mural was generated by collecting numerous hand drawn pictures form kids, and placed using a clipping mask into the words BE KIND. It will then be printed on PVC and placed in three different IPS schools around the city.
DPWords is no longer in the Murphy building. We have changed locations to 37 Place off of 25th and Keystone.
On March 6, DPwords hosted another First Friday event featuring Amelia Eskenazi (of the important Eskanazis). This event also featured a fundraising performance from the band Versaria.
Today I got the fun job of stuffing stickers and letters into envelopes and and mailing them out. It was the first time I ever felt like the INTERN!! Lol!
So this is the 3rd round of the brochure I have been working on for DPWords. My Macbook crashed on me so I had to completely remake the whole thing. This was actually a good thing because it allowed me to look at it from a more creative perspective. Now all I am waiting for is for it to be proof read to see if any copy needs worked on.
DPWords was being interviewed for PBS’s Bloomington affiliate and so for them to have a project that could be filmed, we set up a mural at Carpe Diem Meridian Campus.
This month has been a slow month for working at DPWords. They are focusing big on writing grants, and securing money for future projects. It’s been a month of just working on my brochure for DPWords, straightening up the studio, and working on finding more images for the CTC program at Arsenal Tech. After this week things should pick up. This stuff happens and I just have to roll with it.
